Juniper Green Energy Announces Rs 1,800-Crore IPO Launching on July 30.
Juniper Green Energy has announced the opening of its ₹1,800-crore initial public offering (IPO), which will be available for public subscription from July 30 to August 3, 2023. This IPO consists entirely of a fresh issue of equity shares, with no offer-for-sale (OFS) component, as indicated in the red herring prospectus filed with the relevant regulatory body. The bidding for anchor investors will commence a day earlier on July 29. Initially, the company aimed to raise up to ₹3,000 crore through this public issue, showcasing significant investor interest in the rapidly evolving renewable energy sector in India.
The proceeds from the IPO are earmarked for various strategic financial maneuvers, including the repayment or prepayment of ₹683.24 crore in borrowings, and an investment of ₹728.69 crore in its subsidiaries—Juniper Green Gamma One, Juniper Green Kite, and Juniper Green Power Five—to assist them in addressing their outstanding loans. The remaining funds will be allocated for general corporate needs. Juniper Green Energy has been making strides in developing innovative and sustainable energy solutions in India, including pioneering projects in battery energy storage systems and integrated renewable energy facilities.
The IPO’s sentiment in the grey market appears to be cautiously optimistic, indicative of growing confidence in the renewable energy domain. For Indian investors, this represents an opportunity to engage with a company that stands at the forefront of innovation in sustainable energy. With an integrated approach to project development and a strong backing from AT Capital Group, Juniper Green Energy’s listing is likely to attract interest from both retail and institutional investors, further solidifying the emerging potential of the green energy sector in the Indian market.
