CM to Kick Off Mega-PTM on June 1, Welcoming Students Back to School!
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will hold a Mega Parent Teacher Meeting (Mega PTM) on June 1, coinciding with the reopening of government schools across Karnataka. The event will feature a direct video conference interaction with students and parents, designed to foster community engagement at the grassroots level. School Education Minister S. Madhu Bangarappa emphasized the need for schools to treat the reopening as a festive occasion, directing all schools to organize celebratory ceremonies.
During this event, the Chief Minister is also set to lay the foundation stone for a new building of a Karnataka Public School (KPS) in Shivamogga. Minister Bangarappa highlighted the importance of informing parents about the offerings and quality of KPS schools, urging stakeholders to prioritize the enrollment of students in government schools. A focus will be placed on identifying students who have failed, ensuring they are aware of their options, and encouraging their return to the educational system.
Bangarappa instructed officials to implement the midday meal scheme effectively from the first day of the new academic year and to ensure that all necessary materials, including textbooks and uniforms, are distributed in a timely manner. Regular visits to schools by officials will be mandated to maintain educational standards and teacher attendance. The Minister commended recent educational achievements, attributing the success in SSLC and II PU examinations to the department’s strategic initiatives, including question banks and preparatory exams facilitated at the state level.
