Alpha Alternatives Acquires Four Major Road Assets Worth ₹7,500 Crore.

Alpha Alternatives has significantly expanded its presence in the transport infrastructure sector through the acquisition of four operational road assets, with an enterprise value of approximately ₹7,500 crore. This strategic acquisition is facilitated by the Build India Infrastructure Fund and includes assets acquired from notable entities such as Ap Co Infratech, KCC Buildcon, and the Welspun Group. These assets consist of operational projects awarded under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) and traditional annuity formats by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL).

This latest inclusion raises Alpha Alternatives’ total investment in road projects to a cumulative enterprise value of around ₹25,000 crore, covering 25 projects across nine states and one Union Territory. Such growth renders Alpha Alternatives one of the most dynamic infrastructure investment platforms in the country. The increasing investor appetite for operational road assets is evidenced by this acquisition, as these projects feature long-term annuity cash flows, indicating a robust demand for de-risked transport assets among domestic infrastructure funds.

Furthermore, the partnerships formed by Alpha Alternatives, particularly with Dilip Buildcon, are indicative of a focused approach to enhance capabilities across the entire asset lifecycle, encompassing construction to maintenance. The residual concession life of about 14 years for these assets underscores the potential for sustained returns and long-term value generation for stakeholders, as articulated by Jignesh Shah, the head of infrastructure at Alpha Alternatives. This strategic positioning not only reinforces the company’s commitment to infrastructure development but also highlights its ability to navigate the evolving landscape of transport investments successfully.
