Uttarakhand SSC Exam Cheating Racket Expands as Another Suspect is Arrested.

The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) has arrested Ishwari Prasad, a key member of a cheating racket that employed high-tech methods to facilitate fraud during a Staff Selection Commission (SSC) recruitment examination in Dehradun. The arrest occurred following intelligence inputs and was part of an ongoing investigation that began when the racket was first identified on February 13 during the online SSC exam for Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar positions. Prasad was apprehended at St John’s Academy in Nehru Gram, where he was linked to the setup prepared for cheating.

Authorities recovered a significant cache of evidence from Prasad, including a laptop, mobile phones, internet routers, multiple Bluetooth devices, a SIM box, batteries, electronic equipment, and fake ID cards. The STF revealed that Prasad was not only responsible for the installation of these devices but had also configured the server room and examination lab intended for fraudulent activities. His arrest marks the fifth involved in this scheme, which had previously evaded detection during SSC examinations conducted in November 2025.

As a consequence of the investigation, St John’s Academy has been sealed as an examination centre for the upcoming SSC Constable (GD) online examination scheduled for May 18. The Regional Director of the SSC has been informed of the situation, highlighting the implications of compromised examination integrity. The case underscores the measures being taken by law enforcement to combat examination fraud and restore public trust in the recruitment process.
