SBI Funds Management Reports 3% Net Profit Increase to Rs 873 Crore in First Earnings Post-IPO, Captivating Investor Attention

SBI Funds Management has recently reported impressive first-quarter results following its listing last month, demonstrating robust growth across several key financial metrics. For the quarter ending June 30, 2026, the company achieved a net profit of Rs 873 crore, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 3.3% from Rs 845 crore in the previous year. Revenue from operations showcased a notable surge, rising by 15.2% year-on-year to reach Rs 1,146 crore, up from Rs 995 crore, while operating profit surged by 17% to Rs 907 crore compared to the same quarter last year. Additionally, the company experienced a substantial sequential growth in profit after tax, which increased by 37% during the quarter.

In terms of assets under management (AUM), SBI Funds Management maintained its dominance in the competitive mutual fund sector. The mutual fund quarterly average AUM (QAAUM) reached Rs 12.6 trillion, a commendable 11% increase compared to the previous year, securing a market share of 15.1%. Within this segment, actively managed equity QAAUM rose 10% year-on-year to Rs 8.6 trillion, representing a market share of 12.5%. Furthermore, the passive QAAUM segment also experienced growth, ascending by 12% to Rs 4 trillion, where the company led with a remarkable market share of 27.4%.

Beyond traditional mutual funds, the alternative assets under management (AUM) expanded significantly, totaling Rs 16.5 trillion. The AIF QAAUM saw an impressive 29% year-on-year growth, reaching approximately Rs 6,800 crore. Such diversification in asset offerings, coupled with an expanding investor base now comprising 18.2 million unique investors, underscores the company’s strategic positioning in both traditional and alternative investment segments. Notably, the number of individual investors from beyond the top 30 cities amounted to 12.7 million, indicating a broadening of its market reach. This extensive growth trajectory positions SBI Funds Management as a key player in the evolving landscape of asset management.

As of the end of the reported quarter, SBI Funds Management offered a diverse range of 122 mutual fund schemes, including 35 equity-oriented schemes, 36 debt schemes, and 43 exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and index fund schemes. Six new schemes were successfully launched during the first quarter of FY27, reflecting the company’s commitment to innovation and responsiveness to investor needs.
