ICICI Prudential AMC has demonstrated robust financial performance in the first quarter, reporting a year-on-year net profit growth of 23% to Rs 965 crore, up from Rs 784 crore in the comparable period last year. This substantial profitability is underpinned by an 18% increase in revenue from operations, which reached Rs 1,564 crore. Additionally, total income for the quarter increased to Rs 1,745 crore, reflecting an 18% year-on-year growth from Rs 1,477 crore. Notably, sequential growth also showcased positive momentum, with total income increasing by 20% from Rs 1,452 crore, fueled by other income that substantially recovered to Rs 181 crore from a loss of Rs 90 crore in the previous quarter.
Profit before tax (PBT) also exhibited encouraging growth, rising 21% year-on-year to Rs 1,281 crore compared to Rs 1,062 crore, while on a sequential basis, PBT increased 22% from Rs 1,046 crore. These results come amidst rising operational efficiencies, though total expenses did increase by 12% year-on-year to Rs 464.4 crore. Notably, employee benefit expenses rose to Rs 204 crore, reflective of strategic investments in talent, while fees and commission expenses climbed to Rs 124 crore, indicating a proactive stance in client engagement and service delivery.
The profitability margins for ICICI Prudential AMC remain impressive, with the profit before tax margin standing at 81.87% of revenue from operations and the profit after tax margin at 61.67%.
