Centre Appoints Basavaraja Kodagunti as Additional Charge for CIIL Directorship.
Basavaraja Kodagunti has been assigned the additional responsibility of serving as the Director of the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) in Mysuru while continuing his role as Professor and Chief Vigilance Officer at the Central University of Karnataka. This appointment, effective from April 30, 2026, was communicated through an office memorandum issued by the Department of Higher Education’s Language Division.
In this interim capacity, Prof. Kodagunti will oversee the institute’s operations, which play a significant role in the promotion and development of Indian languages. His background in academia and administrative responsibilities positions him to contribute effectively to CIIL’s objectives, ensuring that the institute’s mission aligns with the broader goals of the Ministry of Education.
