CBSE Extends Deadline for Scanned Answer Book Requests to May 25.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for Class 12 students to request scanned copies of their evaluated answer books to May 25, midnight. This extension follows prior delays, prompted by complaints regarding difficulties accessing these documents through the online portal. The CBSE’s recent circular emphasized the need to facilitate students’ requests during the ongoing technical issues related to the On-Screen Marking system.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has engaged with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to enhance the CBSE’s payment gateway infrastructure, involving four public sector banks: State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, and Indian Bank. This collaboration aims to strengthen the payment system related to the post-examination portal, which has faced scrutiny due to reported technical glitches impacting students’ experiences during the re-evaluation process.
Pradhan has requested a comprehensive report from the CBSE addressing the complaints of technical failures, including server downtimes and payment disruptions. The Union Minister has called for the deployment of teams from IIT-Madras and IIT-Kanpur to troubleshoot these issues and ensure a seamless re-evaluation process. The outcome of this investigation will play a crucial role in restoring confidence among students and parents concerning the CBSE’s operational reliability.
