Woman Injured in Accident at Kochi Metro Construction Site

A young woman sustained injuries in an accident caused by an iron piece that fell from the worksite of Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) on Civil Lane Road during the de-shuttering of the deck slab. The incident occurred near Padivattom on May 19 and gained attention when the victim took to social media to demand compensation for her injury and associated losses.

KMRL confirmed the incident and stated that operations at the site were being halted immediately. The contractor, Afcons Infrastructure, has been instructed to provide necessary support and compensation to the injured individual while an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the accident is set to take place. KMRL emphasized the importance of addressing safety protocols to prevent such occurrences in the future.
