Kerala Politics Heats Up: CM-elect Satheesan in Talks with Pinarayi Vijayan as UDF Leadership Gathers to Finalize Cabinet!
Kerala Congress (Jacob) chief Anoop Jacob stated that alliance partners in the United Democratic Front (UDF) expect representation in the state Cabinet as discussions on its formation are set to commence. Jacob, who contested solely in the Piravom constituency, secured his position as the party’s only MLA, emphasizing the importance of equitable representation in the upcoming government structure.
Jacob indicated that discussions regarding the allocation of Cabinet berths would begin during the UDF meeting scheduled for May 15, 2026, at 4 p.m. He noted that these conversations are integral to the coalition’s strategy and future governance plans, as securing ministerial roles is a key expectation from alliance partners.
When questioned about the possibility of adopting a 2.5-year rotational arrangement for ministerial positions, Jacob clarified that such discussions have not yet started. The focus remains on initiating dialogue around Cabinet appointments, highlighting the collaborative nature of decision-making within the UDF and the necessity for mutual agreement among its constituents.
