Sebi Greenlights IPOs for Bombay Coated, Bonfiglioli Transmissions, and Swaraj Green Power

In a significant development for the Indian IPO landscape, the capital markets regulator Sebi has recently approved the IPO proposals of three companies: Bombay Coated and Special Steels, Bonfiglioli Transmissions, and Swaraj Green Power and Fuel. This approval paves the way for these companies to tap into the primary market in the upcoming months, reflecting the ongoing robust investor participation across diverse sectors, including manufacturing, industrials, renewable energy, and ethanol. Bombay Coated intends to raise funds through a fresh issue of up to 1.5 crore equity shares, which would increase its outstanding shares from 3.96 crore to 5.46 crore. Smart Horizon Capital Advisors will manage the issue, while KFin Technologies will function as the registrar.

Bonfiglioli Transmissions, an industrial gearbox maker, is set to proceed with its IPO as an entirely offer-for-sale transaction involving up to 4.7 crore shares. Notably, this means that Bonfiglioli will not receive any funds from this public offering; instead, it will allow existing shareholders to dilute their stake. Axis Capital has been appointed as the book-running lead manager, with MUFG Intime India serving as the registrar. The company’s focus on industrial and power transmission segments positions it strategically in a market that caters to a wide array of applications.

Swaraj Green Power and Fuel also received approval for its IPO, capitalizing on its integrated sugar and bio-energy business model, which includes a significant ethanol production capacity. With India’s increasing focus on sustainable energy and its ethanol blending programme aimed at reducing crude oil imports, Swaraj Green is well-positioned for growth. The company boasts sustainable operational practices and efficient water consumption, further enhancing its appeal to environmentally-conscious investors. Overall, the successful IPOs of these companies signal favorable trends in the Indian market, reflecting strong investor demand and diverse opportunities for growth, which could enhance portfolio diversification for investors seeking exposure in emerging sectors.
