75% of Jharkhand Voters Aligned with 2003 Rolls Ahead of SIR, Says CEO
Parental mapping of 75% of voters in Jharkhand has been completed as part of the preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, set to take place from June 20. This significant milestone was announced by Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar, who indicated that the mapping aligns current voter data with the electoral rolls from 2003, the last time this revision was conducted. As a result, Jharkhand’s voter base now stands at 2.64 crore.
The unmapped voter list will be displayed at all polling booths starting May 23, allowing voters to verify their registration status. Kumar emphasized the importance of this process, encouraging electors to visit their polling centers to check their names in the unmapped list. Those whose names are absent from the mapped records should consult with their booth-level officers for necessary assistance.
Additionally, the unmapped list will remain accessible for two weeks, and on August 5, the draft publication of the electoral roll will include information on absent, deceased, and duplicate voters. This comprehensive effort is aimed at ensuring a smooth and transparent electoral process in Jharkhand as the state prepares for upcoming elections.
