Pune Court Swiftly Frames Charges in Nasrapur Child Murder Case Within Just 28 Days.
The Bhor taluka court has framed charges against the accused in the murder of a child in Nasrapur village, Pune district, within 28 days of the incident. The trial will be conducted daily in camera, following the court’s assessment of prima facie evidence from the investigation.
The incident occurred on May 1 when the victim, who was visiting her grandmother for summer vacation, was lured to a cowshed by the accused under the pretense of showing her a calf. Allegations indicate that the accused raped the child and subsequently killed her with a stone, concealing her body under cow dung. The victim’s family initiated a search when she failed to return home, and the body was later discovered in the cowshed. CCTV footage supported the investigation by showing the accused leading the child to the location.
The police expedited their investigation, filing a chargesheet within 15 days, which included a sexual examination report along with the CCTV evidence. Despite the defense opposing the framing of charges during the accused’s initial court appearance, the judge affirmed the court’s decision after reviewing the evidence. Notably, the accused referred to the case as a “minor matter of fighting,” prompting a notable reaction in the courtroom. Investigations have revealed that the accused has been implicated in two similar cases prior, although he was acquitted in those instances due to insufficient evidence.
