Market Movers: 10 Factors Poised to Influence Tuesday’s Stock Market Trends!

Domestic equity benchmarks experienced significant gains for the third consecutive session on Monday, propelled by aggressive buying in key sectors such as banking and financials, energy, and automobiles. The Nifty index rose by 312.40 points, or 1.32%, closing at 24,031.70, while the BSE Sensex saw an impressive surge of 1,073.61 points, or 1.42%, ending at 76,488.96. Meanwhile, the volatility gauge, India VIX, fell 6.74% to close at 16.70, reflecting reduced market uncertainty. Analysts are noting a positive shift in market sentiment, marking a cautious yet optimistic outlook among investors.

According to Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities, the Nifty’s recent breach of the 20EMA and 50EMA indicates a robust recovery in market sentiment. The bullish crossover seen in the Relative Strength Index further supports this momentum, suggesting that the Nifty may move towards levels of 24,200 and beyond. However, immediate support at 23,800, which previously acted as a resistance level, will be critical for maintaining this upward trajectory. Ajit Mishra, Senior Vice President at Religare Broking, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the Nifty’s ability to surpass the 24,000 hurdle and project potential gains towards the 24,400–24,600 range while cautioning against stock-specific volatility due to impending monthly expiries and ongoing earnings announcements.

The day’s trading activity displayed a mixed sentiment with several stocks hitting 52-week highs, including notable names such as Adani Enterprises and Vodafone Idea, indicating strong buying interest. Conversely, significant selling pressure was observed in large-cap stocks like Max Healthcare and ONGC. On the market breadth front, a positive outcome was noted with 2,703 stocks advancing, while 1,607 experienced declines. The market remains in a bullish phase, mainly influenced by key stocks such as ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank, with analysts urging investors to adopt a selective approach in stock picking based on sectoral dynamics. Overall, the current market sentiment appears favorable, though vigilance regarding upcoming market events is advisable.
