Five individuals have been arrested in connection with the alleged NEET-UG 2026 examination paper leak, according to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The arrests took place across various locations, including Jaipur, Gurugram, and Nashik, with key suspects including three brothers from Jaipur and a student from Gurugram. The investigation has uncovered a scheme where approximately 120 questions from the leaked paper were reportedly shared through encrypted messaging applications to multiple clients, raising significant concerns about the integrity of the competitive examination.
The CBI’s investigation was initiated following a complaint from the Department of Higher Education, Education Ministry. As part of the probe, a significant number of searches have been conducted, resulting in the seizure of incriminating materials and electronic devices. Coordination with the Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) has revealed that initial detentions have already led to the questioning of over 15 individuals, indicating the widespread nature of the scam.
Authorities are now focusing on the electronic communications and connections between the detained suspects. The role of additional individuals, including a beauty salon owner and an ayurveda practitioner, is under scrutiny as the investigation unfolds. The CBI continues to pursue further leads and has emphasized the importance of technical analysis in resolving this case, which poses serious implications for the credibility of the NEET examination process.
