Wealthova: “Websol Energy Shares Surge 45% in Six Days, Fuelled by Vijay Kedia’s Backing—What’s Behind the Rally?”

Shares of Websol Energy System, a prominent player in the solar cell manufacturing sector, have demonstrated remarkable performance, surging 5% to reach the upper circuit for the third consecutive day. This upward momentum follows an impressive rally of 45% over six days, attributed to the company’s robust quarterly earnings and fresh investments from notable investor Vijay Kedia. Trading at Rs 128.31 on Wednesday morning, Websol’s shares have astonishingly increased by 155% since hitting a 52-week low of Rs 50.40 on March 9, signaling significant recovery and investor interest in the stock.

The company’s strong Q4 results released earlier this week revealed a staggering 158% year-over-year increase in net profit, soaring to Rs 125 crore from Rs 48 crore in the same quarter last year. Additionally, revenue from operations for the January-March period surged 132% to Rs 401 crore, compared with Rs 173 crore year-over-year. Sequentially, net profit rose 92% from the previous quarter, accompanied by a 54% revenue growth quarter-over-quarter. Websol attributes this performance to favorable structural factors in India’s solar manufacturing sector, such as ambitious renewable capacity targets and supportive government policies, positioning the company for continued growth.

Investor sentiment has also been positively influenced by Vijay Kedia’s recent share purchases, highlighting confidence in Websol’s growth trajectory. Kedia, a prominent market investor, emerged as one of the largest individual shareholders in the company, with his holdings valued at over Rs 54 crore. While specific details of his acquisitions remain unclear, his involvement is likely to enhance market confidence. As Websol Energy System continues to bolster its manufacturing capabilities and integrate expansion strategies, the outlook for the company appears increasingly optimistic, making it a noteworthy player in the renewable energy sector.
