EAAA India Alternatives Debuts on BSE and NSE with Less than 1% Premium.
EAAA India Alternatives made a subdued entrance into the stock market on Monday, with its shares listing at a slight premium of less than 1% to the IPO price of Rs 1,665. The stock opened at Rs 1,675.50 on the NSE and Rs 1,673 on the BSE. The Rs 1,200 crore IPO was solely an offer for sale (OFS), involving 72.07 lakh equity shares sold by the promoter, Edelweiss Securities & Investments Pvt. Notably, since the issue did not include fresh equity issuance, the company will not receive any proceeds from this offering as all funds go directly to the selling shareholder.
The IPO price band was set between Rs 1,585 and Rs 1,665 per share, with a face value of Rs 5. At the upper limit, the IPO was priced at 333 times its face value. The public offering, which took place from October 26 to October 28, received an overall subscription rate of 5.51 times. Retail investors subscribed the portion 1.08 times, while the non-institutional investor segment saw a 4.81 times subscription. The qualified institutional buyer category was particularly attractive, being subscribed 13.80 times.
Currently, the grey market premium (GMP) for EAAA India Alternatives stands at Rs 54 per share, translating to approximately 3% over the upper price band of Rs 1,665, which points to a potential listing price of Rs 1,719. Although the grey market sentiment remains optimistic, it is essential for investors to approach with caution as GMP does not guarantee actual listing prices or returns. For Indian investors, the subdued debut could imply a wait-and-see approach for further market sentiment, particularly in the context of the current market volatility and valuation concerns.
