October 2026: A Surge in IPO Activity with Record Listings and Remarkable Capital Raised
The Indian IPO market experienced a robust performance in October 2026, with 14 mainboard issues closing and raising a sizable ₹44,610 crore. A total of 18 mainboard IPOs listed during the month, and a substantial 14 of them opened above their issue price. The average listing gain for these IPOs was recorded at 15.8%, indicating a strong investor appetite. Notably, BLS Polymers attracted the most bids with a staggering subscription rate of 241.22 times, demonstrating high demand and interest in certain sectors.
On the other hand, the SME segment was active but smaller, with 22 issues closing and raising ₹1,173 crore. Out of 27 SME IPOs listed, 12 opened above their issue price, resulting in an average listing gain of 12.12%. The most sought-after SME offering, Vans Electroengineerings, saw a remarkable subscription rate of 584.44 times and listed 90% above its issue price, closely followed by Roopa Screen. This trend denotes a disparity in interest and demand between mainboard and SME listings, which could influence future investment strategies.
For Indian investors, the successful performance of mainboard IPOs signals a favorable market sentiment, reflecting confidence in new listings. The data indicates a strong likelihood of continued demand, as evidenced by the significant subscription rates and average gains. However, the performance gap between the mainboard and SME segments hints at a more cautious approach needed for investing in smaller companies. Retail investors should consider both sectors carefully and stay informed on upcoming IPOs as market dynamics evolve.
• WEALTHOVA INSIGHTS
The strong performance of mainboard IPOs in October indicates an optimistic environment for investors, particularly with high subscription rates and average listing gains. However, the contrasting activity in the SME segment suggests investors should remain selective and do thorough research before diving into smaller offerings.
