Milma Achieves 15% Turnover Increase to ₹2,559.71 Crore in H1 FY27.
The total turnover of Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF), known as Milma, has risen by 15 percent, reaching ₹2,559.71 crore in the first half of FY27. Notably, the Trivandrum Regional Cooperative Milk Producers Union (TRCMPU) also reported a significant increase, with its turnover climbing to ₹746.21 crore from ₹635.89 crore, marking a 17.35 percent growth compared to the same period last year. This upward trend highlights not only the demand for milk and dairy products but also the effective operational strategies employed by these cooperative unions.
This positive economic performance reflects enhanced consumer confidence in Milma’s product quality and signifies benefits for local dairy farmers who are part of the cooperative network. The increased turnover indicates greater procurement from these farmers, which can lead to improved income levels and financial stability within rural communities. For the market, the continued growth of Milma suggests a strong and resilient dairy industry, potentially attracting more investments and increasing competition among players in the sector.
Looking ahead, the government and the RBI may continue to support initiatives aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and the cooperative sector. Ensuring sustainable practices and enhanced welfare for dairy farmers will be crucial as the cooperative model proves effective in scaling up operations without compromising quality. The long-term strategy may involve infrastructure development, better logistical frameworks, and possibly policy measures that promote organic and health-focused dairy products, enhancing consumer loyalty and market share.
