Shipping Ministry Greenlights Rs 334.89-Crore Flyover to Enhance Cargo Movement at Visakhapatnam Port

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) has sanctioned a ₹334.89-crore internal flyover project at Visakhapatnam Port Authority. This initiative, which encompasses a 3.584-km elevated corridor to connect Convent Junction with the Dock Area, aims to separate road and rail traffic within port premises. This critical infrastructure upgrade is expected to alleviate delays caused at nine major railway level crossings, each experiencing approximately 18 closures daily due to heavy train schedules, thereby enhancing the overall operational efficiency and cargo movement at the port.
