Manappuram Finance Reports Q1 Profit Surge to Rs 585 Crore, Marking a Four-Fold Increase.
Manappuram Finance has demonstrated robust financial performance for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, with a remarkable surge in consolidated profit, climbing over four-fold to Rs 585 crore, compared to Rs 132 crore in the same quarter of the prior year. This significant growth trajectory highlights the company’s effective strategy in leveraging its core focus on gold loans. The total income also reflected a positive trend, soaring to Rs 3,040 crore, which is an increase from Rs 2,265 crore year-on-year, underlining the company’s strong market position and growing revenues in a competitive sector.
The increase in interest income, which reached Rs 2,998 crore from Rs 2,201 crore in the previous fiscal year, signifies a strong demand for gold loans, echoing a larger trend in the NBFC landscape where gold-backed lending is gaining traction. Net Interest Income (NII) for Q1 FY27 also recorded a solid growth of 25 percent, amounting to Rs 1,759 crore, compared to Rs 1,407 crore in Q1 FY26. This metric is a crucial indicator of financial health and suggests an effective management of interest spread amid increasing lending volumes.
Despite the impressive growth in revenues, total expenses also witnessed a marginal increase to Rs 2,259 crore from Rs 2,163 crore in the first quarter of the previous financial year. The relatively modest rise in expenses against the surge in income indicates a focus on operational efficiency, which is critical for sustaining profitability. Additionally, the declaration of an interim dividend of 50 percent reflects management’s confidence in financial stability and commitment to returning value to shareholders.
Furthermore, Manappuram’s Assets Under Management (AUM) surged by 57 percent, reaching Rs 69,635 crore, driven primarily by a staggering 97.9 percent growth in gold loan AUM, totaling Rs 57,006 crore. This impressive performance underscores the robust demand for gold loans, particularly in a market characterized by uncertainties. The significant jump in AUM not only bolsters the company’s balance sheet but also positions it favorably for future growth opportunities as it continues to expand its footprint in the gold financing segment.
