Market Movers: Titan, SBI, Ola Electric, Astra Microwave, and Hindalco Capture Investors’ Attention Today!

Markets closed lower on Friday due to mixed global cues and an increase in crude oil prices, resulting in a subdued trading environment. Despite the recent decline in the Nifty index, analysts suggest that its overall bullish structure remains intact as long as it holds above the pivotal support level of 24,350. The prevailing volatility in crude oil prices poses a risk that may confine the Nifty within a consolidation phase in the short term.

Key companies reported their financial results, with Titan delivering a notable 63% year-on-year growth in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,777 crore, while total income surged 40% year-on-year to Rs 20,753 crore. The strongest performance among reported firms came from Hindalco Industries, which achieved a remarkable 75% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit, touching Rs 7,013 crore, driven by robust growth in its aluminium and copper businesses. In contrast, the State Bank of India reported a 10% year-on-year growth in standalone net profit, exceeding expectations at Rs 21,121 crore.

Ola Electric reported a reduced loss of Rs 336 crore for the June quarter, indicating an uptick in deliveries that nearly doubled from the previous quarter. However, Delhivery faced challenges with a significant 65% year-on-year decline in net profit, despite a robust 28% increase in revenue from operations. This dichotomy in performance highlights the varying conditions across sectors, affecting investor sentiment differently.

The automotive sector also showcased interesting trends, with Maruti Suzuki forecasting passenger vehicle sales to rise between 6.1 to 6.3 million units annually over the next five years due to a recovery in demand for small cars and strong interest in sports utility vehicles. Hyundai Motor India anticipates a resurgence in export volumes starting in the second quarter of the fiscal year, buoyed by strong demand and a healthy order backlog. Such insights suggest a cautiously optimistic outlook for the automotive sector, while investors may need to monitor other segments for volatility and performance shifts.
