HDFC AMC Reports Strong Q1 Results: Net Profit Climbs 12% to ₹837 Crore, Revenue Grows 14%.

HDFC Asset Management Company (AMC) has exhibited robust financial performance in the first quarter of FY27, reporting a consolidated net profit of Rs 837 crore, marking an impressive 12% year-on-year increase from Rs 748 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. The revenue from operations grew by approximately 14% YoY, rising from Rs 968.15 crore to Rs 1,099.72 crore, while total income surged over 13% YoY to reach Rs 1,363 crore. However, total expenses saw a sharper escalation of around 27% YoY, amounting to Rs 273.54 crore, adding pressure on profit margins.

As of June 30, 2026, HDFC AMC’s assets under management (AUM) stood at Rs 9.32 lakh crore, complemented by a rise in quarterly average AUM (QAAUM) of nearly 13% YoY to Rs 9.35 lakh crore, translating to an 11.2% market share in the mutual fund industry. Notably, the company has established a significant presence in actively managed equity-oriented funds, achieving a QAAUM of Rs 5.74 lakh crore with a market share of 12.8%, thus reaffirming its position among the largest players in this sector. The equity to non-equity oriented QAAUM ratio has maintained a strong footing at 66:34, contrasting with the industry average of 57:43 in Q1 FY27.

The total live accounts associated with HDFC AMC reached 31.1 million by the close of the quarter, with unique customer identification via PAN at 17.1 million, indicating a market penetration level of 28% compared to the broader industry figure of 61.9 million. This suggests that while HDFC AMC holds a formidable position in terms of assets and equity offerings, there remains room for enhancing customer reach and engagement in a competitive market landscape.

Following the earnings release, HDFC AMC’s share price experienced a notable uptick of over 2%, closing at Rs 2,724 on the NSE. This stock has appreciated more than 2% over the past week and around 4% over the last month, contributing to a year-to-date increase of nearly 3%. In terms of long-term returns, HDFC AMC has generated over 3% in one year, 129% over three years, and 77% over five years, solidifying its appeal to investors. With a market capitalization nearing Rs 1.17 lakh crore, HDFC AMC remains a strong contender in the asset management space, indicating a stable outlook for future growth and shareholder value.
